Lectrify at Maker Faire Bay Area: A Weekend of Making, Building & Inspiration

Lectrify at Maker Faire Bay Area: A Weekend of Making, Building & Inspiration

What a weekend! Lectrify had the opportunity to be part of Maker Faire Bay Area 2026, held at the historic Mare Island Naval Shipyard in Vallejo, California. This year was especially exciting as Maker Faire celebrated its 20th anniversary, bringing together makers, educators, inventors, artists and curious minds from across the Bay Area and beyond.

For three days, Mare Island was packed with incredible projects, hands-on activities, electronics, engineering, robotics, art and plenty of things we’d never seen before. It was the perfect place for Lectrify to share our love of learning through making.

Getting Hands-On with Lectrify

At the Lectrify booth, visitors could get a closer look at our range of STEM and electronics kits and discover what happens when you combine creativity with practical skills.

From learning about circuits and LEDs to getting started with soldering, our kits are designed to make STEM something you can build, experiment with and take home.

One of the best parts of Maker Faire was seeing people stop by, ask questions and get excited about making something themselves. There’s something really special about watching an idea go from a pile of components to something that actually works.

A Community Built Around Making

Maker Faire is about so much more than technology. Across the event, there were robots, drones, electronics, engineering projects, crafts, art installations, unusual inventions and hands-on activities. The official programme described the event as a place where art, technology and science collide and it really felt that way.

There were also plenty of opportunities for visitors to get involved rather than simply look at projects, including activities such as learning to solder, drone flying and racing, and a huge variety of maker workshops.

That hands-on spirit is exactly what we love about Lectrify. We believe some of the best learning happens when you’re actually building, experimenting, making mistakes and figuring things out for yourself.

Looking Back on the Weekend

Being surrounded by so many creative people and projects was a brilliant reminder of why we do what we do.

Whether you're completely new to electronics or already love building and tinkering, there is always something new to learn and another project to try.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Lectrify booth, chatted with us, tried out our projects or simply shared our enthusiasm for making. It was fantastic to meet so many fellow makers and STEM enthusiasts.

And, of course, a big thank you to the Maker Faire team for putting together such an inspiring weekend.

The Faire might be over, but the making doesn't stop here.

Take something apart. Build something new. Try a new skill. Experiment, get creative and, most importantly, have fun making.

We can't wait to see what gets built next!

Keep making. Keep learning. Keep experimenting. ⚡
